The business begins in 1994 in Pagergunung Village, Tasikmalaya. One of the cities where handicraft developed rapidly in Indonesia. CV Mendong Jaya was founded by Eje Zaenal Muttaqien. The name mending itself comes from the name of the Mendong plant or Fimbris Umbrellaris a type of grass that lives in swamps. Mendong used for tikar or tradisional rug style since 1980 became a must have item for every home and main additional income for most of villagers.
