The MDA – MBH field (including part of the Madura Strait WK which is located off the Madura Strait) is about 200 km east of Surabaya, and about 75 km southeast of Madura Island, with a sea depth of about 100 meters. Husky-CNOOC Madura Ltd. (HCML) plans to develop the MDA and MBH fields by building two offshore platforms, gas pipelines and FPU. The company has revised the target for first gas flow of the MDA-MBA and MDK gas projects to 2021 from initial plan of 2020.
Referring to the MDA-MBH Field POD signed in January 2013, the MDA-MBH Field is expected to increase the supply of natural gas to East Java by around 380 Bcf, with a peak flow rate of 120 MMscfd. Gas buyers from this field are PT Petrokimia Gresik, PLN and Pertagas. The planned production scenario is to flow gas from WHP MDA and MBH which is about 28 km to FPU through a flexible riser between WHP MBH and FPU.
The gas that has been processed at the FPU is then flowed through the subsea pipeline which is connected through the subsea hot tap process to the 28-inch East Java Gas Pipeline (EJGP) pipeline and then distributed to gas buyers in East Java. The MDA & MBH Project consists of the EPCI Project and the FPU Project with the scope of work of the EPCI MDA & MBH Project covering the fabrication and installation of WHP MDA, WHP MBH, subsea pipeline, and subsea hot tap to the EJGP subsea pipeline.
