Indonesian Government Expected The 35,000 MW Power Plant Program Completed in 2024

The government is promoting the 35,000 MW electricity generation program which was previously planned to be realized in early 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2024. accessed in the PLN RUPTL, as discussed in this reversal by PLN (10,681 MW) and the Independent Power Producer (IPP) amounting to 25,904 MW.

In 2018-2027 RUPTL, electricity growth is projected to increase by 6.86% per year, with a total development capacity growth of 56,024 MW. Based on the RUPTL, 54.4% of electricity will come from coal power plants, 23% renewable energy, 22.2% natural gas and 0.4% fossil fuels.

Minister of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir stated, the 35,000 megawatt (MW) electricity program will continue to run even in the spread of the corona virus or Covid-19.

PLN has provided free electricity for the R1 / 450 VA Tariff / Power and 50% discount for the R1 / 900 VA Tariff / Power during April - June 2020 in accordance with what was delivered by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on April 1 2020.
